Mrs. Smith announcementsweek of 4/29-5/3CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Students will be finishing Unit 2 ELA packet this week as well as social studies Ancient China Unit. We have also been practicing for SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment- state testing) since last week with our SBA practice HW assignments. 2. ELA SBA testing will be all of next week, therefore, students will have an easy work load outside of testing to avoid burn out. The following week will be Math SBA testing, and students will be focusing mostly on a follow up social studies unit as well as finishing the novel Gathering Blue in class. 3. Please talk with your student about test preparation and strategy, as well as, approaching the test with a positive attitude and the mindset to do their best. Class rules will be strictly enforced during the testing periods, any disruptions will be dealt with immediately and with removal from the classroom. 2. Quarter 4 iReady lessons ended today...YAY!!! Students were required to complete 5 weeks of iReady for this quarter, which means 10 passed lessons are required. Any student that has not passed the 10 required iReady lessons will be held in during lunch to eat and work until they pass the required amount of lessons. Please encourage your student to work on their iReady lessons at home if they have access to a computer. Students are given credit for passing 2 lessons per week. iReady can only be worked on online and students are encouraged to work on this at home each week. Students are also allowed to come in at lunch to work on their iReady lessons if they need more time at school; otherwise, students are only given 30-45 minutes each week in class to work on iReady.
